In 2012 and 2013 the Donana International Ltd Company was selected to be one of the independent monitors for the construction of a new 4 ½ billion dollar power plant and lignite mining complex. Donana International Ltd was chosen on the basis of previous mine and material handling experiences. Our areas of interest were the monitoring of the new mine development, including the construction of workshops, offices and warehousing buildings. Part of the mine development involved the relocation of an 80 cubic yard Dragline from an overseas location to the new mine operation. This machine was upgraded by replacing the old DC operation system with new state of the art AC variable frequency drives, increasing the overall dimensions of the Tub and Rotating Frame and adding a second operator’s cab. In addition to the mine oversight, Donana International Ltd. Was responsible for the construction of the Lignite handling facility. This facility provided a 500 ton dump hopper for the large mine trucks to unload into. The Lignite was crushed and moved via several hundreds of feet of single and dual conveyor belts, through a seven story transfer building. Lignite could be transferred at a rate of 2400 TPH to outside storage or an inside storage area. The inside storage area was the largest free standing Dome ever constructed in North America as measured in enclosed cubic area.  The Lignite could be custom blended from the mine pit, open or closed storage areas and was then transferred to the plant gasifier to be converted to gas to operate the power plant generators.  In this capacity Donana International Ltd. acted as the onsite representative for the commissioners of the state government.
